The Cunninghams went to Charleston, SC for four days. Lots of fun was had, lots of food was eaten and everyone had a great time. Four days was just enough and we were all ready to go home. Mummy confronted her fear of fish and we went to the aquarium! Max and Lily got to play in the ocean for the first time. Max and Daddy made sandcastles and chased pigeons. We hope you enjoy our photos - we took a lot!

Finally it is time to get back in the garden! This year we read a great gardening book called, Square foot gardening and are giving it a go. It really seems like a good way to garden, very simple, nice neat boxes, and getting a lot from a small space. Last weekend Max and I made the boxes. This weekend Mommy painted them while Max and I made our own dirt. It is made from 1/3 Peat Moss, 1/3 Vermiculite and 1/3 Compost. It feels incredible, you can just run your hands through it, so light an fluffy. Max was the official "water boy" We have lots of great photos of it here.

WOOHOO! We got a new camera. Finally. :D It's a lovely one so there should be a lot of great new pictures over the next few months. That is, when we get to know all the new features. Until then check out Max riding in his new electric JEEP and Lily and her friends at 13 weeks.

Our digital camera has died a sad death and is beyond repair
We are currently using the DVDcam to take photos, but the resolution is a lot lower. So please bear with us if the pictures are a bit grainy, orange or just poor quality. We'll see what we can do about it.
Until then, enjoy the new pictures of Lily smiling and Max finally enjoying his new sister!

Max adores microphones! Any chance he can get to talk, sing etc.. on microphone he will. So in the corner of the dining room, I set up a little stage for him to see what he would do. The stage consists of a mircophone stand that I use when I DJ and a foot stool so he can reach it. When I set it up for him he went banannas! First thing he did was to say a prayer into the microphone. He clasped his hands, bowed his head a bit, talked really low for a couple sentences and then said: "men" (Amen) So I figured if he was conducting ministry school he needed a Bible. He took the Bible.. flipped the pages and cited the verse saying "one, eight.... one, eight.. " Then gave us a 10 minute speech, with a few jokes, some serious looks and a concluding song.

Conventions are by their very nature tiring. This however was the first convention with Max since he has gotten so very active. Normally at meetings at the KH he is very well behaved, sits quietly for the most part. Then afterward he is very intent on milling around interacting with everyone. We didn’t know how he would handle an 8 hr, 9 to 5 convention. Glad to say he did quite well. Mostly he was interested in Denell holding him. He loves Denell so much! I fear he is going to bruise her he squeezes so tightly. He also thinks Uncle Devin is Hilarious. So the nice thing for
When I was on the stage for the 1st part of the prophecy symposium, I could see him looking at me and talking to me. Guess when he heard my voice over the PA system, he thought I was addressing him personally.
During the lunch intermission however, he pretty much only wanted to walk around, examine the steps and otherwise interrogate any six year-old that walked by.
During the afternoon session, he managed to take a short 45 minute nap, but he didn’t seem to comfortable on
Afterward we went to Caribbean Spice, which was quite good, as usual. The manger she even apologized for that last time we were in and left because it took over an hour to get waited on. Kelly and Amy seemed to quite like the place as well, particularly since we were the only ones there from the convention. I had the Brown stew fish which is fantastic. Afterward Kelly and Amy came over to our place to see our little house, we had a really nice evening with them.

We just got back from the doctors, and saw ultrasound images of the new baby, looks like Max is going to have a little sister to take care of!!
We were so excited to find out. A little girl is exactly what we were hoping for.
She is currently 11 ounces, head down (unlike Max ever was!) We have a scan of her sucking her thumb. On the screen you could see her moving around kicking her feet and moving her arms to her mouth. This was just the regular ultrasound, we should get the 3D images in a couple months. But Michelle and I are so relieved to know that everything looks healthy and all Michelle's vital signs are excellent (BP, Hemoglobin, etc..).
Now we just need figure out what to name her, feel free to post some suggestions below.

We just got back from visiting Grandma and Grandpa Cunningham up in Michigian. Poor Max and Michelle both were getting over bad colds. Max was not quite himself until about the third day into the visit, but he was a real trooper and a sweet boy for most of the trip. We flew out of Atlanta early Thursday Morning (6/23) had a stop over in Cincinatti and got to the Flint "airport" around 11. Being used to Hartsfield International airport in Atlanta, I can only describe the Flint Bishop Airport as "quaint." It has 7 Gates. Cout 'em 7 gates, but atleast it is quick to get in and out of there. Mom and Dad picked us up at the airport and drove us the 5 miles to their apartment.
Max took a little while to make himself at home at the apartment, but eventually he was into everything. Dad was teaching pioneer school there, so at the lunch break we got to meet the class and everyone got to meet Max, who is always at home at any KH. The next day we drove out to stay at the Bossman's home on Lake Michigian. They were kind enough to let us use their 3 story, perfectly furnished, lake "cottage" . Max really enjoyed it, he walked around going 'ooooohh, whats this?' and 'wow, whats that!' He particularly enjoyed the steps. Since he has never really been around steps much, I spent the first day teaching him how to go up and down them safely, by crawling up them and the sitting down and going "Boom" on each step on his bottom. He really, really loved the water, the house is on an inlet, so it is shallow for about two hundred yards out - the ultimate wading pool. The waves are small and there are lots of pebbles on the shore, so it was the perfect playground for a toddler. Max learned to throw rocks and did so repeatedly. He also taught himself how to float in the water, putting his hands down in the sand and letting his legs float free. The best part for us was the HUGE tub in our room all three of us (four including the baby in Mommy's tummy) could relax and wash up in it. Max didn't really care for the jacuzzi bubbles, but loved the soap.
Overall it was a relaxed, laid back trip. Michelle got to watch wimbeldon and blow her nose on the sofa, I got to cook a bit, Mom and Dad got to play with Max a bit, although I think he got the better of them. It has been a while since they had to chase a toddler around. All in all it was a good time, but Max and Michelle both seem glad to be home and back into their daily routine.

Poor things. But at least Max learned a new phrase, he told Billy Baldwin on the phone "I sick"

New words this week.
Max has discovered his muscles. He likes to grab you by the hand, pull you out of your seat or off the floor. As he does so he makes a loud straining noise, like he is pulling megalithic block of granite to build the pyramids. Once he has you on your feet. He says loudly and proudly: "I strong!"
Of course "Thank you!" is still the reigning champ for him. He says "thank you!" when he wants something or when you give him something or when he hands you something (Such a polite child)
Interestingly shows of strength are mentioned in the baby center development milestones
